The HDD spin down feature ensures efficient operation by reducing power consumption. When your computer enters sleep mode, the hard drive spins down to minimize power consumption. The hard drive spins up automatically when the host system wakes up.
Finally, the open-back design is especially suitable for those who have more than one HDD. Simply attach the SmartGuider to a SATA 3.5-inch HDD and install the drive in the enclosure. When you need to replace the HDD, the existing drive can be easily removed from the enclosure and replaced by another drive.
