  • Connection/Power options:
    • The unit connects to a standard 6-pin 1394a FireWire 400 port and receives power and data from this single connection. If connecting to a 4-pin Firewire port, the unit uses the included DC to USB power cable or optional AC power adapter.
    • If connecting via USB, the drive uses the included USB y-cable for data and power.
  • The drive includes either NTI Shadow 4 for Windows ($39 retail) or NTI Shadow for Mac OSX ($39 retail). The software is not required in order to use the drive. Features include the following:
    • Real-time backup with bi-directional sync
    • Ability to create password-protected encrypted partitions (Windows version only)
    • Continuous data protection and scheduled backups
